In case you do not know already, my handy husband can make ANYTHING. One day, I will have to showcase some of his masterpieces. For today, we are featuring my ROCKING CHAIR. Greeks do not "rock" their babies, although they liked the idea when we explained it to them. I have never ever seen a rocking chair here. Christos had never actually seen one at all when I started talking about wanting one/ him making one, so when we went to the States we made a point of taking a good look around at rocking chairs. He loosely modeled this one after the ones on my parents back deck. Check out the detail.....
And this all (other than allowing the coats of varnish to dry) literally took him only a matter of hours!
In addition to admiring his works of art, we have also been keeping busy other ways. Until last Saturday, the weather had not been great at all, lots and lots of rainy, gray days. Since the sun at last decided to show its face for a few days, I have scrambled to do this....
Also, our second much anticipated box of baby gear mailed from the States arrived.
When we came back from America, we were LOADED down with baby stuff, and we also mailed two boxes.
I was really eager for this box to make it over, as, among other things, it contained Maria's bassinet, a gift from the lovely Mrs. Jan. I was so grateful to have received that in plenty of time. Of course, I wanted it here for her to sleep in when she arrives, but I also wanted to have time to get the linens washed, and for Christos to make this......
The BASSINET STAND....His other masterpiece of late.
How BEAUTIFUL is that? Custom made at the height/ size/ color I wanted, and all for the bargain price of 10 euros, a few hours, and some love and care. Ah, it makes me so happy.
Handsome AND handy, that man! And, he can also be romantic.
The box also contained some fun surprises packed by my mom before she mailed it, such as my favorite
And, for our latest Auburn fan,
If you happen to see a bag of Cheetos peaking out of that box above, they were also for the latest Auburn fan. The man is a Cheetos fiend. Although I try and regulate their intake, my mom would rather buy him a large bag at every opportunity. That's okay, he has enjoyed eating them while we spend quality time with Mr. Jack Bauer.
We have spent the past 7 days absorbed in our 24 marathon. Sadly, we are nearing the end, and plan to finish watching the season this afternoon.
I will say that, again, it has been all we wanted it to be.
And, that is that. Last, because it has been asked for and asked for again, here is a shot of Baby Maria as of yesterday. I hope you are all happy!!!!
That's all for today! Hope y'all all have a fantastic day!!!! Talk to you soon...another update coming in a couple of days.
Haley! I am loving your updates, keep them coming! You look soo cute!! Love the belly pic!
ReplyDeleteHALEY! The bassinet stand is amazing. The chair is amazing. The photos of the tiny baby girl clothes in the breeze are amazing. And you, my dear, are the most AMAZING of all the photos. You look fantastic beyond words. Congratulations and continued blessings to you both! I miss your sweet face and your laugh! It's been too long. :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth put it best - AMAZING!!!!! Christos could make a living just building rocking chairs and bassinet stands!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!! As are you, me dear! Prettiest 37 week preggers I've ever seen. And I'm not one tiny bit prejudiced!! Facts are facts! You're still just "all baby". New box on the way with more goodies. Wish I was in it, too. Love you bunches!! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky lady to have such a talented hubby. The rocking chair is beautiful and the bassinet stand is perfect!!! You need to insure Christos's hands - they are worth millions!! He can truly do anything. You are a very pretty mom-to-be (no prejudice here either). Looks like Baby Maria is ready to arrive! The little girlie items blowing in the breeze brought tears to my eyes remembering my own little girl's laundry and also yours. Precious Memories...........
ReplyDeleteLove - Love - Love XOXOXOXOXO
You look great! I think it is wonderful that Christos is so talented! I love the rocking chair!
ReplyDeleteAnd - I love how you dried her clothes and grouped them by color... pink... yellow... white. Precious!
We can't wait to see pictures of sweet Maria! 2-22-11 would be a cool birthday!
Love you, Cuz,
Sher
That is one talented husband you have! And can I just say the clothes drying on the line was beyond cuteness!
ReplyDeletei know, i think i may keep him! and it is a really good thing that the clothes were so cute, as they would have made me crazy. despite the sun, the air had so much moisture i had to rehang them day after day to finally get them dry. but, i have to admit, it was kinda fun! also, i am so happy, after so many months of blogging, i finally learned how to cut and paste a url to "follow" a blog, and so now i dont have to go via facebook every time to check yours. baby steps....ha!
ReplyDeleteHave to tried posting a comment by every way but by carrier pigeon. Hope this works. Christos' craftsmanship on the holder and chair are beautiful. Wish I could come over in May and meet Maria. You are in my nightly prayers for an easy and safe delivery. Love, Ms. Jan
