America: Round Two, Part Two

We had such a fun time back in the States that I am not ready to stop sharing about that yet.  In addition to all that pumpkin carving and kite-flying, Christos also waged war on falling leaves.  He decided that he could not stand to allow any amount of leaves to accumulate in the yard...an exercise it futility if I ever saw one.  He literally would spend hours out there with the blower and/or rake, and then cuss like a sailor when we would next arrive home again and see a blanket of freshly-fallen leaves covering the lawn.  He took it all very personally.
He also spent a fair bit of time over at a good family friend's house, helping him remodel his kitchen.  They had a lot of quality manly time, and Christos is always in his element when he is making/ building/ creating something.  "Uncle" Billy also forced Christos to drive all the time, a feat which I had not been able to accomplish myself.  He now is totally comfortable driving Stateside, despite our crazy-by-comparison large interstates, the fact that we actually follow our traffic laws, and the fact that he could never learn how to get places because, when I drive, I never go the same way twice (I know this was frustrating for him, but I cannot help it, I bore easily, and there are other factors, such as scenery, traffic, and particular stores on the way that factor into my variety of chosen paths.)
Him staying busy gave me plenty of time for my own endeavors, such as:

Working on developing my stellar fashion sense,
Catching up with girlfriends (and throwing old school shout-outs to our "x and a horseshoe" sisterhood,)
And attending BABY SHOWERS!!!!  (I immediately made an appointment to highlight my hair after I saw the pictures from this day.  What is it about this pregnancy that has made my hair look so dark so fast after I color it????)

Also, I turned 30!!!!  (I allowed Christos to stop all his slave labor long enough to join us for that celebration.)

We also found time to cheer on the Auburn tigers on their path to the National Championship!

Christos has spent 2 fall (aka football) seasons in the United States.  Both years, he watched the National Championship team play live at a stadium.  What are the odds of that?  How can you not make a football fan out of the man?

So, that was update Part Two, it probably won't be the last!

Hope y'all are all good and happy and that those of you back home are staying warm with all that crazy weather!

  2. Sara! I just put up my last American update. Sad. I cannot believe we did not see each other at all while we were home. I feel like that happened with a lot of people this time around. The days just went so fast!!!! In the fall, for sure, we will ALL get together!
